We took part in the international event Europe +/- 20, organized by the Polish Robert Schuman Foundation. We celebrated the fall of the Berlin wall with presentations, workshops, debates and role-plays.
From 6 to 10 November 09 we increased our knowledge of the meaning and effects of the fall of the iron curtain in Europe. Thanks to the groups coming from various EU countries we focused on different realities of the European Union, for example the different role of the communist ideologies in Eastern and Western European countries, or the stereotypes still inside the mind of the Europeans.
The activities organized by the coordinators and volunteers of the Robert Schuman Foundation showed us how much we still have to do to create a real Union. We were happy to find that some conclusions were the same. Staying with other young people gave us the possibility to discuss themes that are nearer to our interests, so we could develop relationships with students from other countries.
On the anniversary day of the fall we didn’t use words: we pulled down a ‘real’ wall in Warsaw! This experience was the conclusion of our work and it was very exciting!
